Outlook sync issues

I am brand new to blackberry's and I have a problem with syncing. I am running Outlook 2003 and desktop manager 4.5 (enterprise server connection).

 

issue #1) Some calendar appointments show up twice but occupy the same time period, particularly recurring appointments.

 

issue #2) not so much an issue as a gripe, why does blackberry have to read all appointments and contacts, delete them all and the add the new ones again. Why can't it just sync and add the new or changed items similar to Activesync?

 

issue #3) I have the manager set up so it automatically syncs when connected. Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't.

 

Any help would be great, blackberry far exceeds Windows Mobile.
