I have been using Password Keeper for several years.
It does not have a default password. When you open it the first time it asks you to set the password.
It doesn't have to match anything.
The BlackBerry Enterprise Server keeps a wireless back up of the device Password Keeper database.
The data is stored in the SQL database, it is encrypted and inaccessible.
The Password Keeper can be backed up locally with Desktop Manager (you must turn Wireless Sync off first).
It cannot be printed, unless someone knows the trick and is willing to share it.
I use the Desktop Manager to keep a weekly backup (also stored on two older devices).
When the Password keeper is restored from a backup it asks you for the password (based on the date of the last entry/edit/change)

I had been a Palm user for several years, and had a third-party program called InfoSafe that allowed importing, backing up, a parallel desktop version, and printing. However, it doesn't run on Blackberry. But that also meant that I had a fairly well-developed database that I wanted to import to this device, which the Blackberry password keeper doesn't do. This was a major drawback to me.
I took stinsonddog's advice to look at reviews of third-party applications, and found SpashID. After some troubleshooting to edit data structure to import cleanly, I was able to import all of my existing records, and it syncs flawlessly on the Blackberry. All of this with the trial version...which appears to be not limited or crippled.
I will pay for it when the trial period ends, because it's passed all my tests.

Hello, new to this sort of thing. Interested in the password keeper comments. Instead of password keeper, why can't you make a new contact with all the information in there? As long as the handheld is password protected, wouldn't the contacts be "protected" as well? Or is it more secure to keep this information in the password keeper?
By the way, went into password keeper for the first time today, made a password and was in. Curve 8830, 4.5/T-mobile
Thanks for any advice.
