Re: PASSWORD KEEPER?? HOW TO USE IT??

Can you go from password keeper to the website you want and it will automatically populate the fields?  This is terrible that everytime I go to a website, I have to enter it everytime.  Thanks so much.

Re: PASSWORD KEEPER?? HOW TO USE IT??

I am able to pull up the website from Password Keeper, but then have to manually enter user id and password.  Other's in the forum have mentioned SplashID as a secure program with more functionality than Password Keeper.  I wonder if it populate's the fields?

Does anyone else have any experience with SplashID?  Is it worth the $30 price tag?

Re: PASSWORD KEEPER?? HOW TO USE IT??

I just logged into mine for the first time and it immediately prompted me to create a password... Really simple. I do use a keyboard lock for security and so to not pocket dial, so not sure if having a keyboard password had anything to do with it..

But I wanted to share a solution that I have used for years prior to being a crackberry owner (going back to the original BB text only devices in the 90's)... Tell me if this is too low tech or unsecure, but, I created a contact in my Outlook labeled, for example, 'self'. Within the notes section of the contact I have all my account passwords, etc so that regardless if I am on computer or BB I have immediate access to all password data. It works great for me. As for security, I have my bluetooth disabled on BB and laptop, secure router at home, have locked down my ports to kep out intruders, etc.

This has been a great solution for me prior to any such thing as a 'password keeper'.. Am I missing something here and leaving myself over-exposed to a lack of encryption/security?

Thanks.

Re: PASSWORD KEEPER?? HOW TO USE IT??

I am not familiar with the Palm product. However, I do not see any options to import or cut and paste mulitple passwords at one time.

Again, if you can copy all passwords at one time out of the Palm app, I would simply paste them into the 'Notes' section of a new Outlook contact labeled 'Self'... THis provides you instance access to your passwords and as long as you have a password lock on your keyboard, you're all set!

Re: PASSWORD KEEPER?? HOW TO USE IT - Why not have one with desktop input too

what if everytime your phone goes to sleep mode you have to put in a password. i don't want that anymore and can't seem to get rid of it. i've even tried in the general options and it says it's enabled, but doesn't give me an option to disable it.

Re: PASSWORD KEEPER?? HOW TO USE IT??

Just like it says it keeps ur passwords safe by password protection. Select the icon and start by making uppassword. Then add all of ur passwords for things. Don't forget the password u started with u need it to open ever time

caipland,

Then you have a password required by your corporate IT Policy and you can not change that.

If you are not on a corporate BES account, and you bought your BlackBerry device used, you need to remove the IT Policy.
