PASSWORD KEEPER?? HOW TO USE IT??

Can one of you smart guys explain to me how to use the Password Keeper?  How do you access it and what exactly is it for?  I have an 8310 on 4.2.2 with ATT.

Thanks for your assistance!

Just used as an area to store information such as passwords.

You only need to learn one password to log into password keeper.

Don't use it myself.

Re: PASSWORD KEEPER?? HOW TO USE IT??

Speaking of Password Keeper, anyone know how safe and secure it is?  Is it easily hackable?  I can imagine loosing or having my BB stolen and I would sure hate to have all of my usernames and passwords taken as well.  Any thoughts?

Hello,

if you care about that, just add a password on your blackberry whenever it is unlocked.

Just be careful not to forget the password you use to access the Password Keeper. If you put in the wrong password 10 times, all of the stored password will be erased from the device. http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11145

Re: PASSWORD KEEPER?? HOW TO USE IT - Why not have one with desktop input too

I think if you get one of the programs that allows you to use a desktop input you will be alot happier.

Here are some that I personally like, and I have tried most of them.

Re: PASSWORD KEEPER?? HOW TO USE IT - Why not have one with desktop input too

Well you piqued me interest. I have never used mine either. So I went in and sure enough it asks you for a password right off the bat. So I tried the 0000 and 1234 routine and nothing. It gives you 10 tries before it erases the stored passwords, but knowing I never stored anything, I had nothing to lose. After the 5th attempt you no longer see the **** coming up, it is now in plain text so you can make sure you are not making a typing error. But anyway I just put in the wrong password 10 times, then it asks me to create a new one. So if you KNOW you have nothing to lose then go for it. But does anyone know the default password?

Re: PASSWORD KEEPER?? HOW TO USE IT - Why not have one with desktop input too

Well I pulled out the "Blackberry for Dummies" manual.  It mentioned when you first log in to enter the password you set for your blackberry.  I guess from the password you set under the general settings? I didnt do that on mine yet.  If you havent done that, it doesnt say anythin about a default password.  It says the screen will pop up asking you to create your password. When I click on my password keeper it says "please choose a new password".   I am not sure if I would want to do this  - but it might be nice to have since i do have a lot of different things that i need to remember on.  Will just think on it for now.

Re: PASSWORD KEEPER?? HOW TO USE IT??

Is there any way to back up the password keeper with my desktop sync?  Can I see this info on my laptop?  Would I be able to print the info I've put into password keeper?  I used to have a Palm PDA and was able to do all of the above.
