There are many possible passwords that this could be, each with different outcomes if you fail the 10th time. Since you did not state clearly, we'll have to make a guess.
If this is your device lock password that you created in the Security Settings, then there is no hope...there is no "master" or "override" password to use. Only the user-created password can unlock the BB. Failing the 10th time will wipe the device clean of all personal information, and it'll be just like new again. Hopefully you already have your data backed up somewhere (via one of the many FREE methods that RIM provides) so that you can restore after the WIPE.
If this is your BB ID credentials, then that's different...nothing will be wiped out. Rather, your BBID account may be locked out for some period of time -- until, for instance, you successfully log on from a PC/Browser and/or initiate a password reset email sequence.
There could possibly be other candidate passwords based on your description, but those are the two most likely.
Please confirm which it is...if it's the BB ID credentials, then we may be able to provide you with more. If, however, it's the device lock, then there is nothing to do but fail that 10th time and start over.
