Passwords

When I tried to sync with my computer I was asked for my password. I must have failed to make a note of it and cannot recall it with the result that if I fail with the next attempt it will erase all my data. How do I contact BlackBerry to get them to reset it in order to avoid this problem?

Re: Passwords

Blackberry can't help with your password.  Does the password contain a number?  you'll have to use the alt key on blackberry for num lock.  No other options here, try disconnecting it from the computer and doing a battery pull.  Let the phone boot up and try your password again on the device only.  This will give you some more tries to fogure it out.

Re: Passwords

The password your computer is asking for is the same one used to unlock your blackberry itself

Re: Passwords

Er.............if so, then it's goosed. I have used my Blackberry for a couple of months - all was fine - I just downloaded the blackberry desktop, when I connect my phone, it asks for a pw. I type in EXACTLY the same as the pw I use to unlock my phone - Ugh URGHH says the desktop.

When we set the phone PW - we are forced to use at least 2 digits (and min 6 chars). So my pw is ______11 - I use alt key to type the 11. When I type ______11 into desktop - It just moves to 2/10, 3/10, 4/10.

What utter BS!!!

Re: Passwords

@ouch: can you change the password on the device to troubleshoot? If you can, use zero for the two digits. Reconnect to the desktop manager and try the new password.

Re: Passwords

WooHoo - Thx for that - So Blackberry don't like having to use the alt button?

Anyhow, my device is now connected until I forget I changed the pw (I have lots of senior moments (and I'm only 51))
