Phone Status Indicators

I have a gold ball with the number 1 next to it on my screen.  It looks like the browser icon but gold. I cannot find anywhere what this means. I assume I have a message sonmewhere but cannot find where?  Am I being stupid?  Can anyone tell me what the indicator means and how to remove it please!

Have you solved the "problem"? I had the same on my 8900 - I opened messages - then pressed Menu - View Folders - and opened them one by one and found an unread message in folder "WAP Push Messages" - deleted the message without opening it and the "Golden Dot with 1 next to it" was removed. Hope this helps you.
