Pictures not showing up in Media Folder

Good day all!

I've checked other threads and cannot seem to find an answer...

I've got a friend with an 8520 and she has a problem. When she takes a new picture with the camera, it saves it and assigns a name (i.e. the standard "IMGxxxxxxx" file name) but it does not show up in any of the picture folders (All Pictures, Camera, etc.) on her phone.

A battery pull does correct this, but that can get tiresome.

The pictures can still be found on the phone by going through "apps > files > file folders > device memory > home > user > pictures" but again, can get annoying.

I've checked and it does not seem that the folders have been excluded, nor are the pictures being hidden by default (if that's possible) simply because they do show in the folder after a pull.

Is there any way to fix this for good?

Here is the information as taken from her "About" screen:

BlackBerry® 8520
smartphone (EDGE, Wi-Fi)
v5.0.0.900 (Bundle 1626, Platform 5.2.0.96)
Cryptographic Kernel v3.8.5.85
Branding Version: 1.0.107.668N
Micro Edition Configuration: CLDC-1.1
Micro Edition Profile: MIDP-2.1
Micro Edition JTWI Version: 1.0
Micro Edition Media Version: 1.1
Micro Edition PIM Version: 1.0
Micro Edition File Version: 1.0
Micro Edition Bluetooth Version: 1.1
Micro Edition Location Version: 1.0.1
Micro Edition Security and Trust Services (APDU) Version: 1.0
WLAN Version: 3.0.0.126

Also, she's on the Rogers network (though I know that has no bearing on it...)

Anything else you need to know, just let me know - hopefully we can help her!

Re: Pictures not showing up in Media Folder

Open the Camera then Options and make sure all pictures are saved to Media Card.

She does not use a Media Card, just the Device Memory.

Re: Pictures not showing up in Media Folder

They really should be in Pictures in the media folder but she should really use the SD Memory card that comes with all new bought BB's because if there isn't enough device memory the Pic's fail to save. As said she really needs the SD card, as Pic's, Music, Videos, take so much memory up.

Re: Pictures not showing up in Media Folder

I agree that an SD card is preferable, but she does not have one, so that does not immediately resolve the problem...

Re: Pictures not showing up in Media Folder

No, but she could get one from anywhere for a couple of quid. If she does get one, make sure it brand new in a packet.

Re: Pictures not showing up in Media Folder

I don't mean to sound rude or dismissive, but can we move past the media card? She does not have one nor does she wish to purchase one.

Everything was fine before without a media card and I am confident that it can be returned to normal operation without one as well.

Do you, or does anyone else, have any other suggestions?

Thank you for your assistance.

Re: Pictures not showing up in Media Folder

You can't save evr eything to the phone internal memory, there's not enough. Just delete the stuff you don't need, messages, call logs etc. Good luck.
