Re: Playing music on laptop speakers through bluetooth

Thanks for the long reply, and detailed instructions. Like I mentioned earlier, the Bluetooth connection itself works fine. The media player on the Blackberry  also gives the option to "activate "pc-user" for the sound, but for some reason the sound just doesn't come out of the laptop speakers so it appears to be getting lost somewhere between the BB and the laptop, or it is being muted for some reason.

I will start a post on the M4400 owners lounge and see what those guys come up with. Please do keep posting if you guys have any more ideas. I really appreciate your efforts.

Thanks again!

Re: Playing music on laptop speakers through bluetooth

My Tour 9630 starts playing through computer speakers right away after I answer the headset request.  It does, however, stop playing through the speakers if I move it  away from the computer even a little.  It has to be REALLY close to the computer to go through speakers even though the bluetooth connection is still there .  I have to disconnect and reconnect to get it through the computer speakers again.

Re: Playing music on laptop speakers through bluetooth

Did you ever find a resolution for this?  It was working perfectly for me, then I had my laptop (Dell 1721) reformatted and must have lost some drivers or something.  Mine, like yours, is connected and APPEARS  to be playing through the laptop speakers; however, there's no sound.  I think the problem has to do with this:

Open Bluetooth Devices from Control Panel

Click on Bluetooth Settings

Click on Audio tab

It says my Stereo Audio Player for my Bold is disconnected.  When I try to connect, it will act connected for a split second, then says "disonnected" again.  Occasionally, it will stay connected for a bit and play, but the sound quality is treacherous.

I used to be able to be in a different room and use my phone as a remote control to play music through my laptop's external speakers.  It sounded incredible too.  Please help if anyone has suggestions!

Thanks,

F

Re: Playing music on laptop speakers through bluetooth

Hi! Unfortunaterly with windows Vista I never did and I never tried it after I upgraded to Windows 7 last December... until today when I got an automatic note about your post. With windows 7 it worked straight away! I couldn't believe it. If you hadn't written I probably would not have tried for ages! I haven't got any special drivers installed. Just the most recent Dell Bluetooth drivers and Blackberry Desktop manager. I am still using the Precision m4400 and I have to say Win7 has solved so many of the issues I had. I hope you manage to find a solution and thanks for reminding me of this!

Now, my laptops already paired with my BB and i have send and received data on my BB from my laptop. When i activate my laptop through my BB media player, the devices get paired and i get a notification saying connection to my laptop successful and i get a check mark against stereo audio in the next line. But im unable to hear any sound on my laptop. HELP!

BlackBerries seems to not support any BT beside Microsoft's or Widcomm's (Broadcom) versions.
