Problem receiving Data.

Im new to the BB world. i recently bought my 8900 Curve. I have a pay-as-you-go UK card.

I usually use the mobile to surf the web (using the wifi, since i have no plan for internet with Vodafone).

I downloaded Google Maps/Mail,Live Messenger and Facebook but these software doesnt seems to work (i download, i install but then i cant log on the program - Facebook - or open the program - Google Maps).

Gmail for exemple says "this software requires a working data connection".

Any suggestion to resolve it?

Thanks in advance

Re: Problem receiving Data.

There are many apps for BlackBerry that will not work over wifi. They require a data plan. I believe that facebook, google maps, and live messenger all require a data plan. A few apps I know work over wifi are 3rd party browsers like opera mini and bolt, slacker for streaming radio, IM+ for instant messaging, not sure if any map apps for backberry work over wifi. My BB doesn't use wifi but I asked a good friend who has a BB without a data plan, wifi only like you.
