Roxio error?

I installed the Blackberry desktop manager on my computer, but ended up uninstalling within a few hours.  The minute I had the software installed, it began freezing up on me, and also freezing up my desktop.  I am not running Vista, and not sure why this would occur.  I would like to be able to start backing up/ syncing my Curve, but not willing to put up with a software program that freezes up.

 

Any suggestions?  One particular note:  I kept getting an error message about the Roxio media?
