If you had already set your message setting to keep it forever but even after that your messages are got deleted then have a look at this Knowledge Base Article and see if that helps :
KB14213 : Call logs, SMS text messages , and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry Smartphone.
So always do you backup using BlackBerry Deskrop Software or BlackBerry Protect for such situations.
