SMS too short

Is there any way to have more than 160 characters available per text message. I know I will be charged 1text/160 characterr, but i want to write long messages and then the operator will charge it accordingly....

Re: SMS too short

Send it as a MMS.  160 characters for SMS, 1000 characters for MMS.  You don't have to attach a picture.  Other then that, you may want to send an email.

Re: SMS too short

That would be a good idea, but some of my contacts cant receive MMS.

Im sure there is a way to send larger sms's and then the phone will concatenate them (like happens in all non-smart phone of Nokia, Motorolla...)

Re: SMS too short

I do not know of any way to add more than 160 characters in a sms message.  It's written in the software of every phone on Verizon's network anyway.

hi msalema, what makes you think you cannot write more than 160 characters ? When you open up a "compose sms" from your Blackberry, you can write far more than 160 characters in a SMS.

Re: SMS too short

Sometimes what I see is people sending multiple SMS messages.  If your recipients are on Verizon's network, they won't be able to view more than 160 characters in a single message.  You may have to break your friends into groups, write a SMS, and continue your conversation in a 2nd or even 3rd message.  As I stated before....use the MMS, and use multiple messages.
