ahh sorry i forgot to ask aswell! i had blackberry protect on the device now ive wiped will that not work on the device anymore?? also does the wipe clear passwords for things like facebook and twitter which wee default apps on my device not downloaded from app world

Correct, all your personal information, preferences, data, etc., is removed from the device.

me again :smileyvery-happy: (bet your sick of answering my questions haha) i was just thinking i may of backed up my bbm contact list on the device at some point (not to sd card) and possibly had chat history turned on but i cant remember if i did or not, anyway when i security wiped will this of deleted the backup and chat history that was possibly saved physically to the device or will that remain?

also a little side note if i open an email on my blackberry, will the desktop version of email show the message has been read to?

All data from your device memory is wiped. I think that's been stated several times in two of your threads.

Re: Desktop version? Outlook? What is your desktop email software and what is your email server type? Pop3 or imap?

i thought backups might be saved though as the blackberry might not of seen that as "personal data" on the device thats why i asked..sorry.

im not sure what my email server type is, its a hotmail address though

Backups to your PC are not affected by a device security wipe.

i know that i meant if i saved the bbm contact backup .bak file to my device its self, then wiped would that of cleared out the .bak file on the device not my computers backup

well to you it may seem that way but to me i thought personal data (contacts emails ect..) would be different to actual backups on the phone i just thought they maybe 2 different things. Im sorry if you think we are going round in circles i just wanted to know for future reference
