Just want to verify ... it doesn't seem there is any option to send a photo from my blackberry curve to another person's PHONE number. I can only send to an e-mail address or to facebook or to a messenger contact. And then I see the "Send Using Bluetooth," which I'll explore at a later date ...!
Can someone confirm I CANNOT send to a phone number OR if I can, HOW?

via MMS, yes. Most carriers provide that service.
In the US, for instance, TMobile, AT&T and Verizon do.
Sprint is one who does not. Alltel just began doing so this week.
Who is your carrier?

Apparently this problem still exists.
I have a BB Curve with Sprint.
Sprint claims BB is a computer not a phone. And didn't care if it could send photos. Its a BB problem not a Sprint problem.
My wife just got a LG Lotus..... It rocks.
Does anyone know of a app that will allow a BB to send a photo to another phone?
It will send an attachment to an email address or to facebook but not to another phone number..... How **bleep** hard can that be?
