The browser on my Curve 8330 is extremely slow. One time it gave me a message that the browser software was out of date and should be updated. Yet is has the BB software version 4.5.0.77, which I thought was the latest. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks

What is the file free on your BB? Go to options-status and look at the 3rd line down. Try to keep this number above 15Mb.
If the number is getting low there are several things you can do: Memory Management
Also, with your browser running, go to menu-options-cache operations and clear your cache on a periodic basis dependent on how much browsing you tend to do.
You can also pull the battery out with the device ON. Wait about a minute and put the battery back in. Let the BB completely restart and see if that doesn't help. Clears out the memory and refreshes the BB; like rebooting your pc.
When you have anomalous behavior or sluggish response in your BB a battery pull often helps to clear it up.
