Re: Software 5 update problem with keyboard lock key

I don't know, but in the meantime you can:

  • assign the "lock keyboard" feature to one of the two convenience key
  • use the icon "lock keyboard" on the home screen
  • use the shortcut K to lock the keyboard on the home screen.

Re: Software 5 update problem with keyboard lock key

I also have this problem after installing version 5.0.0.508. It appears that I no longer have an option for locking the keyboard. When I select Options/Screen/Keyboard and select Left Side Convienence Key Options it does not show up in the list of selectable options.

Re: Software 5 update problem with keyboard lock key

I just downloaded the newest update for my curve, and it completely deleted the feature all together.  I've scoured every menu on the device and cannot find a keyboard lock feature.  I can't even put this thing in my pocket anymore without fearing an accidental phone call or text message!!

Re: Software 5 update problem with keyboard lock key

this is a HUGE problem. i have a blackberry because i can lock it and trust it wont dial anyone from my pocket or bag. blackberry must fix this now. I would not have a blackberry if i have to wait 5 seconds every time i check my phone while i type in the a pass code. In addition, this stupid upgrade has taken so much of my time. The pass ocde unlock sucks and my phone is always goes black and takes longer to fix. I am better  off with an iphone bc at least that LOCKS!!!

Re: Software 5 update problem with keyboard lock key

None of these things work.  The only way to lock the keyboard is to hold the *A  button down, however the mute button on top unlocks it so when you holster the BB it unlocks.
