Stolen blackberry

[ Edited ]

i really hope someone @ blackberry see this and can help... I just bought a blackberry 9360, 1st thing i did was to activate blackberry protect, less than 7 days later it was stolen, 2 days later i manage to find out that the thief is using it, so i jump on the bb protect website to locate my phone, just to find out that bb protect means absolutely nothing if the thief reloads the bb software and disables bb protect. Thanks Blackberry, your security software means nothing!! Maybe i should try apple since this was my 3rd blackberry that got stolen. If any one can locate the perp with a bb pin

Edit: PIN removed. At no time should you provide any personal information to any other community member. Please review the Community Terms & Conditions and Support Community Guidelines for additional information.

Re: Stolen blackberry

No one can locate your BlackBerry by the PIN. Not possible.

If the SIM card  is removed, the ability for Protect to communicate ceases. Same if the battery is dead or removed.

Sorry for your loss.

Re: Stolen blackberry

He probably inserted his own SIM card, (have you called Vodacom to cancel your account?).

And that would have disabled your Protect communicating with it.

If you know the PIN, don't send it a BBM invite (why would the thief want to hear from you?).

Instead, send the device a PIN to PIN message from another BlackBerry. Perhaps a reward offer?

The stolen device could have been pawned or sold to someone else, as well.

Re: Stolen blackberry

Have the IMEI number block. you won't be getting it back at least you know that person won't be using it.

Cute.

Sorry for your loss. There is NO way to 100% cover things like this. Even Apple can't. And they are even larger targets by thieves.

good luck.
