Can anyone please help me!  On my BB Curve 8330, the email notification icon will not disappear.  I have no unread emails but it always has a 1and the new email icon showing?  Has this happened with anyone else or does anyone know how to fix it?

If you have already searched your folders and found no new messages, reboot your BB by removing the battery, wait 30 sec and replace.  BB will reboot and the icon should go away.

Logman has suggested some great advice.

Here is a very thorough way to search for unopened messages.
From the main message queue do a search:
service=ALL SERVICES
folder: ALL FOLDERS
show: ONLY UNREAD
type=ALL

Both logman and bifocals have suggested great ideas - did this help? I had this problem and when I switched themes, I was able to locate where it was coming from.

I tried taking my battery out but that didn't work.

Your advice helped me find what had happened......somehow I saved a couple messages before deleting them (unread), so I needed to delete or read the saved messages as well to make the email notification disappear.

Great advice. I tried the rebooting but didn't work this time. Also I've tried the looking in the folders. Now I know what I need to do when the other 2 don't work. Thank you,
