The mouse/navigation button is not working

Please, I am need of assistance. The little square navigation button (or mouse) on my BB is not working. I can not navigate through the various icons. I am not able to scroll through my contact book, text messages, email notifications, etc. Does anyone have any information on how to correct this problem? I have the Curve 8520.

Re: The mouse/navigation button is not working

Hello YvonneChildress and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Sorry to hear you're experiencing an issue with your BlackBerry trackpad.

If you reboot by pulling the battery, does the trackpad respond? If you are able to highlight an icon, can you select it by pressing down on the trackpad?

If not, you will want to contact your point of sale to investigate as the issue could be hardware related.

Thanks!

Re: The mouse/navigation button is not working

I've rebooted several times. At times it will respond, but more often it doesn't. I've used the computer keyboard cleaner air spray. The button worked for a brief time after that. I guess I will need to have the button replaced or purchase a new phone.

Re: The mouse/navigation button is not working

i bought blackberry 9300 handheld 19 months ago !
i have got the trackpad repaired 3-4 times in these 19 months being ensured everytime that it will work perfectly !
i had to keep the handheld with redington for 15 days everytime which caused a lot of inconvenience to me !
now again same problem has occured !
i didnt find the service of redington and blackberry 9300 convincing !
i wish to upgrade my phone please suggest me some better offer !
