Trackpad for BlackBerry Curve 9300 does not work properly

Hello,

When using my Curve in the sunlight, the trackpad seems to have a mind of its own. Also, in the last few months my trackpad does not scroll down immediately when I swipe down over the trackpad. It usually takes a few swipes before the cursor final heads in that direction.  But, I have noticed when I put a t-shirt or something cotton over my thumb, the trackpad is more responsive. Can some please help me make my trackpad work properly again?

Thank you for you suggestion, but none of those options seemed to work. What I do know now is that my trackpad does detect my touch however, it is not responding to the direction I want quickly.

Any other suggestions?
