Good Day
My BB Curve 9300 was doing okay until last night when it started to act weird. At first I thought I was imagining it but then the cursor kept on moving upwards whenever i move the trackpad. This happens intermittently. I have also noticed earlier that when I went out of my house and used it with the wind blowing and the sun glaring, it moved by itself and keeps on going upwards. What should I do to fix this? Help please, thanks.

Hi
The Blackberry is designed to be reset by removing the battery whilst the device is powered-on. Leave the battery out for a minute or 2.
See if that resolves the problem. If not, In Options > Screen/Keyboard adjust the trackpad sensitivity way down. See how you get on.

I did this and still it goes up from time to time... It really isn't much of a bother as yet but it is just not how it normally works. What kind of problem is this? And can I at least prevent anything worse to happen? I just got this phone for 4 months

This could be a software problem, in which case you can fix it without any problem.
Or it could be a mechanical problem, still fixable but if you still have warranty you do not want to invoke it by taking the device apart.
So, do you have warranty?

yeah I do have warranty however I am leaving the country for a month. Where can I have it checked? I feel so bad about my bb.. ![]()

Firstly, lets try reloading the OS. A bit of time is all it takes and you MUST do a backup anyway if you are going to have to take somewhere if it doesn't work. Its straight forward, even if the instructions look a little daunting.
When you've done it, try it for a little while and then let us know the outcome. Then we can consider the next move, either taking it in or having a go yourself. I assume you would like to take it on your trip. Here are the instructions
This what I did to completely wipe my BB. I wrote this before starting and printed it off.
If your device is functioning, perform a backup now if you haven't already done so saving the file to a place and in a name that you can easily locate on computer.
I then uninstalled DTM and then deleted all other references to BB/Rim in Windows Explorer thus removing the OS for the BB from the computer in order to ensure that the version I would reinstall would be a brand new downloaded version.
Get the latest Desk Top Software
http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?CP
and install it on the computer.
Get the correct latest version of the OS

and save it to computer.

* To view other available versions of the BlackBerry Device Software, click View other versions. If applicable, click another version. Click Install.
Ensure the new OS is the one you prevously downloaded.
Do not disconnect the device until the whole process is completed and the device has rebooted.
After 10 minutes reboot again by removing the battery whilst powered-on and leave it out for a couple of minutes.
Leave it again for 10 minutes. You should now have a fully functioning BB!

DTM = Desk Top Manager now called Desk Top Software in the latest version. Its the download for the computer so that the computer can manage the phone. If you do the backup as instructed BEFORE hand usint the DTM then you will not lose anything.
