i already did that...my prob is even if i use the alt or the sbhift key still my trackpad is not working. i already remove the battery and the sim but still its not working.help me pls..i cant used my bb9300

Anyone from RIM care to address this problem? This seems to be an issue that needs to be resolved ASAP. This has happened to me as well today, Tried resetting, pulling out the battery and re-installing the software, but to no avail. For people who rely with smartphones for day to day business and work operations, even a day with a messed up phone can be too costly and stressful. Everyone in this thread will appreciate any action that will be made to address this problem. Thank you.

Issue is with some button/s. If you check all the buttons there must be one or more buttons which are stuck. Generally they are the volume keys on the side or the camera button. I had this issue since I dropped the phone and the volume button got stuck. Dismantling the phone and fixing the volme button fixed this issue for me.

i also experienced this problem. but gladfully resolved it by myself

 

press the lock button very very hard. (not long press). give it a very hard short press.

I second the suggestion to open up and clean the phone.

 

In my case the volume rocker was gummed to the outer shell, and may have been activating during bootup,

confusing the OS. I think that solved it (fingers crossed.)

hey guys thanks for all your help,your attempts to try and make your trackpad star working gave me hope.here is the solution you all have been waiting for:remove your battery and insert immediately,hold the alt,left shift, and right shift buttons, and the trackpad and continue to hold the blackberry finish loading and turns to your display screen and I swear you will be amazed.please if this works,like this comment GOODLUCK(:

This issue happens when either of the hardware volume keys are stuck in the pressed position continuously. To resolve this I had to open the phone. In my case, the 9900, one of the metal tabs was bent too far down and made contact on the switch pad at all times. Gently pending the tab back a small amount and then reassembling the BlackBerry was all that was needed to resolve.
