Transfer emails to new device

I had a BB8700 and now have a BB8320. When I synch my new device I only have emails beginning from the day I started using the new device, how can I get all of my old emails on the new device?  I use Outlook from a corporate exchange server.  All of my contacts and calendar history came over but none of my old sent and received emails.  I don't use other internet emails like hotmail, aol, etc.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Do the following:

  1. Connect your old device to the desktop computer
  2. Run Blackberry Desktop Manager
  3. Select Backup/Restore
  4. Click on "Advanced" button and select "email" from the list
  5. Backup your email (file with *.ipd extension will be created)
  6. Close Backup/Restore window
  7. Disconnect your old device from computer
  8. Connect new device to the computer
  9. Select Backup/Restore in Blackberry Desktop Manager Software window
  10. Restore your emails from that *.ipd file to your new device

Hi i have a pearl 8100, I backed up the data to my laptop, but now I am unable to open//access the file because of the .IPD extension. do you know where I can get the free software to open the file?

Re: .ipd file extension - unable to access file

The IPD file is opened by the Desktop Manager which is sounds like what you have already since you made the backup.

You can open the IPD by going into Desktop Manager | Backup and Restore| Advanced. Then go into File | Open and you can browse to the IPD file and open it.
