Approx. 1 month after I got a new 4GB media card 4 my Curve 8520 it stopped workin. I've tried 2 format it, repair it n install it but I got a msg dat kept sayin failed to format or install or repair. So I tried my old 2GB media card n I'm getin d same problem. Can sum1 plz help? Is it my phone?

It actually might be the card. Does it work in a computer? Unfortunately, I've seen a lot of these cards fail, especially when dealing with less reputable brands. And even if it works in your computer, that doesn't guarantee it will work in your BlackBerry.

Ok, Sandisk is one of the best brands, so time to start back at square one. In this case, it may very well be the phone. If you're willing to try something a little drastic, my next suggest is actually to reload the OS on your BlackBerry. You can do this by following the steps located in the following link:

It's possible that something like a handheld wipe could work, but this will just take it to the next step and could save you time in the long run.

Hello everyone. I have a problem with my BB Curve 8520, it can't seem to read my media card. It has stated 'Failed to repair media card'.

I don't remember how did it happen since it happened a few months ago :/ but as far as I can recall, I can't seem to view pictures from my phone. When I tried pulling the 1GB media card and inserting it back, I tried repairing but failed.

I thought something was wrong with the media card so I pulled it and tried to insert to another device, and it worked well. I moved on and bought myself another media card which is 2GB. (-_-)

Unfortunately, the new 2GB media card only worked for a day and it doesn't work anymore! I tried pulling the new media card and inserting it into another device and it worked well too!

A friend of mine told me to format the media card via phone. I tried formatting the new memory card, and it worked, FOR A DAY. And then it was broken again.

I hope you guys are kind enough to help me, I need lots of memory for my device. The device memory isn't enough :-(

From all of your diagnostic efforts, I would deduce that the BB itself has a hardware-level problem, likely with media card reader. The only solution is in-hand support from a qualified hardware technician.

If you are still in your warranty period, I'd recommend seeking warranty evaluation from your original place of purchase. If you are out of your warranty period, then your decisions will be much harder...you'd have to find a qualified local (to you) hardware technician and see what they would charge you to deal with this. And then weigh that cost against just buying a new BB.
