Hi

I am trying to type in something, the name of a pop group, starting with "Il"....(i L), but it always changes it to I'll.

How do I turn off the spell checker.

Secondly, my girlfriend has a tiny icon at the top of her 8520 where the sms icon, BBM icon, Facebook icons all appear.  It's yellowy gold, with very tiny lines in it (looks like the Browser icon), and it has a '1' next to it.

She has no texts.  No MMSs.  Nothing like that at all.  so what could it be?

Hi simon_a6,

You can turn off Spell Check by removing the checkmark in the Check Spelling As You Type check box in Options >  Spell Check.

If you don't wish to disable Spell Check completely , you could add the word to your custom dictionary or ignore it by following the steps in this KB article. http://bbry.lv/oL2IzX

The gold browser indicator sounds like a Browser Channel notification.
