I purchased a new BB 9700 and using mtn as the network carrier, I discovered messages meant for me goes to another device which likely to have the same pin as mine, advice or permanent solutions needed

A Blackberry's PIN is hard coded to the hardware so it is impossible for two devices to have the same PIN number.

Is this a replacement Blackberry and the messages are going to your old device?

The truth is what am experiencing now a friend send message to me but was receieved by another person, my friend decided to chat with the follow on BBM and my friend discovered that it was the same pin as mine. Hear this at times I received messages not meant for me on my device. If it is replacement device I do not know but I bought it new and it was my first BB

Return it and get another device.

Whle it is technically possible to clone a PIN,. the BlackBerry Internet Service does not allow two device with the same PIN on the network at one time. At some point your device or the other may completely quick working and be blocked on the network. You don't want it to be your device.
