Unable to connect to Blackberry World Server

I have recently acquired a Curve 9300 from Vodafone. I have registered for an ID but when I try to download a new application I get the message "Unable to validate address & password". When I click on "Forgotten password?" the message comes back "Unable to connect to World Server. Error Id: 30637". In addition the website does not recognize the combination of address and password. I have sent an email from my computer to my Blackberry email and it was received without any problems. Any ideas, please?
