Hi,
I have just got a new BB curve 9320,
7.1 bundle 1319 (v7.1.0.398, platform 9.49.0.31
I am on a monthly 3 contract. I wish to set up my private and business email accounts. When I go into Setup, Email Accounts I am on a screen that says "no accounts activated" and it has a setup screen for activating an Enterprise Account.
I contacted 3 and they told me I need a contract add on for internet & email which I duly purchased, I spent an hour last night on the phone with the 3 tech team trying to set up the email account. He took me through the process of registering the host routing table and now I have a new symbol on the screen (4 dots)but it still didn't change my email setup options. He kept saying I should have 2 choices on my screen to either set up my own email account or activate an enterprise account - which I don't.
Eventually my 3 tech guy contacted Blackberry who said that he would need to pay for support which he declined so now I have a new Blackberry Curve 9320 which I can't & 3 tech support can't get to setup my email accounts.
If anyone can help I would appreciate it.
thanks in advance for any help - Foz

Have you tried removing the battery and reinserting?

Hi, thanks for your reply.
yes, did that last night along with factory re-set. My 3 tech support guy was very puzzled as to why I had no option to set up email other than activating an enterprise account

If you click on the top bar to bring down the screen where you have the options to turn you network/wifi/bluetooth on and off and select service status what does it say against blackberry Internet service and blackberry enterprise service?
It could also be worth going to 3's Web portal for BIS and try and set your accounts up from there -http://3uk.blackberry.com/

Internet = not connected
enterprise = not connected

sorry for not replying sooner I've been away for a few days.
I went to 3's web portal for BIS and when I tried to set up an account by entering my device pin & IMEI number it said that my Blackberry is not registered with my wireless service providor (I assume this is 3 mobile?), it then tells me how to register the host routing table.
The 3 tech guy took me through registering the host routing table and that seemed to work ok, if I try to do it again I get a long list up:
GPRS UK (234) [23402030]
etc etc for 28 lines of similar text
I'm guessing there's some problem with the host routing table and registering it with Blackberry? I will phone them again tomorrow unless anyone has any other thoughts?
thanks

Hello!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
2) Delete and Resend Service Books
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you indeed will need to continue to work with 3...they are your service and formal support provider for everything. After all, you pay them for your services...
Good luck!

Step 1 done, registered HRT & received a confirmation text.
Step 2 (a) I had no CMIME entry so skipped it
Step 3 (b) still no option to setup an email account and if I do it on 3's BIS portal I get the same message as before
phoning 3 back today, thanks for your help

I have the very same problem have you managed to fix this?

Yes I have, sorry I should have updated this post sooner but got side tracked!
I had the wrong "add on" on my account, I had the standard 3 email & internet "add on" but I needed the Blackberry email & internet "add on" instead (same price). Once 3 changed it over it worked fine.
If you go into your 3 account on line have a look what add-ons you have, it should say "Add Blackberry Internet & Email (Active)", if it doesn't then the phone won't give you the option of setting up email.
