I have a Blackberry Curve 8900.  I keep getting a very small green icon with a number next to it on the left side of the time on the home page.  The only way I can get rid of it is to power the phone off and then when I power it up, the icon is gone.  When I receive what ever comes with the icon, the red notification light flashes.  I can not find anyway to click on the icon or what it relates to in my menu.  Any suggestions?

Offhand I don't recognize what it might be from your description, but It's obviously a notification icon of some sort, and I'm guessing a third party application you have.

What is the small green icon shaped like,... anything?

I would post a picture of my screen if I knew how.  It almost looks like a small green pound sign.

I finally found out, it is an icon for ICQ instant messaging.  I have never used this application, but when I deleted it, the icon went away.
