My Device: curve 8900

Update to OS 5

Hy,

I downloaded the Software to update my device from this site:

https://swdownloads.blackberry.com/Downloads/browseSoftware.do;jsessionid=AF203501D2A466367B065A1799...

 

but the software says that there's no update for my curve 8900.

does anybody know how to update it?

Do a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion.

 

1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

when i start the Loader.exe, i find no option where i can update the OS.

You probably didn't follow the instructions above and also install the downloaded OS file to your PC, did you?

i just have found the problem. I didn't have downloaded an austrian-version, now it works...
