VALIDATE PASSWORD FOR EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS!

2 Weeks ago I recieved an email from Blackberry asking me to verify my password for my email address and until I do this I would no longer receive emails on my blackberry 8520? Since I have not had to log onto my email account on my laptop or my blackberry for quit sometime I do not remember my password. I have gone onto the hotmail site and of course that not longer works because they have switched over to Outlook? So it is very frustrating not receiving my emails any longer when I am paying for this service. what do I do? I have tried changing he password on my blackberry but it will not allow me to do that because it is linked with my computer? confused?

Just in case, refer:

Your issue is actually one of security, not a BB problem per se. Your email account is protected by credentials, and no secure systems will ever display nor provide you with the current password...all they will do is provide you with secondary authentication methods (e.g., Mothers Maiden Name, birthplace, etc.) by which to generate a reset password for you. But I don't know how HotMail/Outlook.com handles such issues.

 

What you must do is somehow get your password at HotMail/Outlook.com reset to something that you do know. Only then can you enter that functioning password into your BB's email configuration so that your email can again start flowing. There is no other way.

 

Your location for researching this is at Hotmail/Outlook.com. MicroSoft has indeed combined all of their prior email services into their Outlook.com site, but prior Hotmail credentials can still function there. But you need to know those credentials. Have you tried, from the primary Outlook.com login page, the "Can't access your account?" link?

Tx yes I have tried the access the Outlook site can not access my outlook account. But it does not work. Will not allow me to change my password. And will not send me a notification to my email with my password that I have forgotten?
