I just got my 8900 and I love it!!!  I have figured out just about everything, but have not figured out how to do the voice activated text yet.  Where to I go in the phone to get that going?

I might be missing the obvious,.. but what is voice activated text?

I know about Voice Activate Dialing.

At the T-Mobile store, the salesperson was saying on this phone that you can do voice activated texting.  Not just voice command calling, but voice activated texting, so you don't have to type your response when texting someone.

I haven't figured it out yet....I may have to go back so he can show me how.

I believe you will need a third party application such vlingo for that.

I don;t think that function is in the native BlackBerry operating system.

I don't know what I have pressed, but my phone reads out all new and old sms texts aloud, then it sents out weird text about driving site to selected contacts and then it started to read out all texts in my inbox, when I received new emails, it started reading them out aloud as well. how to stop this madness! it drives me crazy

That's not the BB software doing that - you must have an additional App installed.

From the Home Screen press the Menu button twice then scroll down to Switch Application and click that to see a list of what Apps are running - Typically you should have BB Messenger, Phone, Home Screen, Browser and Messages - if there are any more check them out and I'll bet one of them is the culprit !
