Today, for no apparent reason, my BB 8900 just kept displaying the White Screen.

I have removed the battery (while still powered on) but that did not help either.

I then googled the problem, and was directed to this forum with people experiencing the same problem. So I tried the suggested AppLoader OS reinstalling method, but with no hope, still a white screen... Is there anything I can do to try and fix this ?

Rim Technology is having global technical issues.  You could be affected by this as it seems that everyone is starting to in Canada and US.  It may be the weekend before it is resolved.

No offense, but I highly doubt my problem has anything to do with the networking issues... But thanks for the reply though.

when you get the white screen plug in the charger and this will help reload the phone. Also try to get a new battery
