I have a new icon on my BB Bold this morning. It is to the centre and looks like a yellow star. Any idea what this is indicating?

Hello !
Firstly I would request you to scroll down through Messages for opening up that Starred Message.
The message is been forwarded from BlackBerry RIM for some upgrade.
Not to worry, you always have an option to delete these kind of my messages will not make you prompt any unread noticfication on your Home screen.
Hope this resolves your Problem!
If your problem has been resolved then would request you to Click on "Like" and accept as "Solution" so that other Advisors doesnt invest there time on this Message anymore.
Thanks.

Hello !
As mentioned previously in my reply, I would request you to scroll through all the messages in "Messages" tab of your device.
There will surely be a notification message in it.
Or else scroll it to the last of your messages on your device, because at times it may highlight for the device properties changes as well.
Hope this resolves your Problem!

Go to Messages and you will find a message with a black star, Open the message and the star will disappear.

For all of you who had that yellow star icon appear on your screen months ago, I was just as frustrated as you. Finally today I spoke to a Verizon representative who helped me find out how to get rid of it. Mind you I'm using a Bold 9650 so your steps may be slightly different depending on your phone. This is what I did:
From the main menu screen:
1. Go to text messages and open
2. Click on the BB icon and look for "View Folder"
3. Scroll down your list and look for an envelope that says "New Apps." You may have more than one but click on either.
4. Inside the envelope will be an email for a memory booster (even if you never downloaded this application). Delete this message. Yellow star icon gone!!!!!

This is an app you have installed correct?
I think you have to open the app and see what it is asking you to do. Know when App world has an update they but an indicator in the banner? You go to app world and download the update. Same here, right?
Open the app and see what the story is.
Thanks..!
