Yellow phone icon with black "<<" to the left. What is it? How can I delete?

Blackberry Curve 8330. This is driving me nuts. I’m trying to discover what this icon is? Just below and to the right of the date at top centre and just to the left and below of the signal strength bars in top right corner. A yellow phone indicator with two arrows << to the left of it. No matter what I do, it won’t go away. I have turned call forwarding on/off many times. I have deleted all calls in my log. I have hard reset. Nothing has worked. Please help me.

Hello J:smileyhappy:hnnymac,

HAve you looked at your missed call log?

ALSO -- It could be that your phone is  forwarded somewhere. Click on the phone/Call Log icon, then go into Options -> Call Forwarding.

I found this on the blackberry forums.....

Re: Yellow phone icon with black "<<" to the left. What is it? How can I delete?

Yes. I have looked at the missed call log. I have deleted everything. I have call forwarded on and off several times. Removed the batttery. Gone into Call forwarding and deleted the second number. It won't delete the No Forward or the main number you chose. I have been looking for an answer for 2 days. Googled it. No-one seems to know. I have a gut feeling I am going to have to Wipe the Handheld which terrifies me. I sure hope Backup and Restore is failsafe. Or I will have a bad day.

Still unidentified icon

Still driving me crazy. Nobody seems to know. A yellow phone indicator with two arrows << to the left of it. No matter what I do, it won’t go away. I have turned call forwarding on/off many times. I have deleted all calls in my log. I have hard reset. I have wiped my Handheld clean and restored. I have seen others post about this but no realistic solution yet. Here is a picture of it

Re: Still unidentified icon

Hi Jonnymac and welcome to the forums!

That is the call forwarding indicator.

You have taken the correct steps to clear it.

When those steps fail, the first stop would be your carrier. They can reset the options

on your phone line. See if they can help you clear the indicator before you try a wipe

of your phone. If you do have to wipe the phone, remember to get a successful backup first.

Let us know how it goes.

thanks,

Re: Yellow phone icon with black "<<" to the left. What is it? How can I delete?

I had the same exact issue and it was driving me crazy.  I came here to see if someone had the answer, and as I was messing around with my phone, I was able to clear the icon.  Here's how it worked for me:

1.  From your phone, select "options"

2.  From the options menu, select "call forwarding"

3.  From the call forwarding menu, ensure each of the 3 options (all calls, no answer, unreachable" are set to "Do Not Forward".  You may still have a number set in there for forwarding even if you have previously used *73 to unforward your calls.

Let me know if this works - I sure hope it does!
