Hi and welcome to the forums lalitaparikh! ![]()
A couple of places for you to visit: Blackberry 101 Tips & Tricks
Take a look at jmrmb80's message #2 in this thread. Also, what specifically are you experiencing? App error 523 or not connecting to pc? What device OS on your BB? DM version? PC OS version?
Just saw this thread: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-
Look at JSanders post in message #5. That may help clarify.
Let us know. And hang in there.
Happy to have you here! ![]()

My husband had the same issue and was ready to buy another phone. T-Mobile could not help him and said his phone was basically dead. I found your post and "WALLA!!!!", it worked. Thanks a bunch.
God Bless

Greetings, and welcome to the forums!
1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
2) On your PC, go to Start > Run, then copy and paste the following line exactly (that means WITH the quotation marks):
"c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
4) In the "Connection" drop-down menu you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed to your Blackberry. Hit 'Next' and 'Finish'. DO NOT disconnect anything and let the entire process finish completely (may take up to one hour).
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you'll need to download Blackberry's Operating System for your particular carrier and device.
http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_
Select the appropriate carrier and network, then select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download to your PC and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

Follow the below steps to get rid of this error message:
1. Take the battery out and put it back in after 30 seconds or so
2. While the device is rebooting (or while the hourglass is still spinning), plug it into the PC
3. Then open the application loader and remove the 3rd-party application that's causing the issue

Hi All,
I've got this same problem but I can't pass step 4 of the instructions, it never comes up as USB:UNKNOWN or anything for that matter, the drop down box is blank and therefore I can't click next. I have to use the link in cmd prompt to open the application manager and its a Bold 9700 if that helps.
Please could people tell me where I'm going wrong and why I don't USB:UNKNOWN?
Regards
Thomas
