hello! I have had my curve 8310 since end January and this past weekend the battery has been draining much faster then usual even though I've hardly used the phone. It's been on most of the time but only receiving texts and e-mails so no more than usual and until this happened,I was having very little battery power used up.
I charged it up to 100% last night and switched it off..so no use overnight
Switched it on this morning and battery only showing 60%!
Also the timer keeps coming up each time I do anything ,which never used to happen.
I phoned service provider and they suggested battery problem, or hand set or SIM card .
I have ordered new battery and in the meantime I wanted other comments / help , as I would prefer not to have to send handset in for repair unless that IS the problem as it would mean I'm without phone for 7-10 days!.
Would a battery pull help this situation?
Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated before I decide what to do if the new battery doesn't make any difference!
Regards,
Gilly

anytime ANYTHING seems out of place you should pull your battery for 10 seconds and put it back in and see if issue reoccurs
its just like restarting your PC... which follows the same rule... anything goes wrong, restart.
if a reboot does not solve it then we need to dig a little deeper
I am banking on a bad battery, the new one you have coming in the mail should resolve it
IF the new battery doesnt solve it then you are probably looking at a backup, wipe handheld

You likely have an app or a couple running in the background. Turning the device off does not turn off all applications... a battery pull (while powered on) will do so.
Your battery could also be simply mis-calibrated with the BlackBerry battery meter. See the information in this link for help on calibrating the batttery.

Thank you both members for your help!
I did the battery pull and it seemed better, and then I also discovered that I had somehow accidentally got the voice notes recorder running during the weekend and it had left me about 257 recordings on my phone!!!! ........hence the timer kept showing as a programme running, and of course the battery had drained quicker and was still being used even with the phone switched off overnight! Doh!!!
Seems to be working just fine now so I maybe don't need the new battery after all - thankfully it was being ordered in store and was F.O.C.!!
Appreciate the help anyway - many thanks!

Gilly
