Re: browser does not work anymore after 2 years

Using the SIM, there is no quicker way, and you will have duplicates. The BB contact list is robust, allowing one name with multiple numbers (plus lots of other details). The SIM phone list is simple, allowing only one name and one number. So, each name you have with multiple numbers on your BB will have, on the SIM, multiple entries. This is a SIM limitation, not a fault of the BB.

There is no way to export to the SIM other than one by one.

Re: browser does not work anymore after 2 years

Is there another way then via the simcard to copy my contacts to my new smartphone (not a BB) ?

Re: browser does not work anymore after 2 years

Via the SIM, no. But there are other ways that don't use the SIM.

  • KB04312 Create and synchronize with an ASCII export file
  • KB11194 How to import contacts from a CSV file to the BlackBerry device
  • KB03315 How to synchronize organizer data (calendar, task list, memo list, and contact list) using the BlackBerry Desktop Software

Good luck and let us know!

Re: browser does not work anymore after 2 years

Is that also possible to a smartphone that isn't BB?

Re: browser does not work anymore after 2 years

I can only advise you on how to get your data out of your BB...I cannot advise you as to what the capabilities are for importing data into your replacement device. You have to ask about that in places that deal with such a device. In general, the answer should be yes. If, for example, you get your data from your BB into a CSV file, then your other device might have an ability to import a CSV. Likewise, if you get your data synchronized with Outlook on your computer, then your data will be there and if your other device can also work with Outlook, then it can get your data from Outlook.

Good luck!
