desktop manager

After successfully syncing my new 8330 5-10 times with the BB Desktop Manager, I now get a Microsoft error message ie. Blackberry Desktop encountered a problem and needs to close. I have rebooted but the problem continues.Any thoughts? Should I remove & reinstall the Desktop Manager? Thanks.
