Re: easily drained battery and sudden loss of recent messages

Hi csalcedo

Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums

Some time our BlackBerry devices may feel warm say a long browsing session , playing games ,countinous download or while charging. Please press and hold the Menu for a few seconds, it will pop up a screen which will show all running programs in the background ,generally five will always there ( Home, BBM, Message,Phone , Browser ) look if any other apps. are running.

Always try to Close Applications Correctly - Avoid using the End key to close applications as this simply minimizes the application and leaves it running in the background. Instead, press the Menu key, select the Close or Exit option to exit the application.Don't leave your Browser open when not in use.If programs run in the background it will also lead to overheating and also quick battery drainage. Please have a look at those Article I am sure it will help you a lot in overcoming your problems :

Re: easily drained battery and sudden loss of recent messages

thanks prince2012 for the reply and for welcoming me here. :smileyhappy: I'll do your advice right away.

regarding the loss of text messages, yes. i frequently experience and "still experiencing" it. for example, my handset became battery drained and was shutted down..let's assume, it's 8 in the evening of march 5. the moment i charge it, and the handset was turned on, the date and time were changed..it gets backward like, it became 4pm of march 4.. and all the messages i have received from 4pm of march 4 up to 8pm of march 5 are gone.. even the memos, tasks, new contacts, and call logs i have made between those time were also gone. :smileysad: i hope you could give me some solutions or ideas to cope with it. i will highly appreciate any suggestions. thank you in advance.

Re: easily drained battery and sudden loss of recent messages

Hi csalcedo

You are most welcome :smileyhappy:

Regarding your issues with Text message , At first I would like to let you know that Our BlackBerry Battery are Lithium ion battery, don't let them go below 10% , constantly draining and using below this level may actually damage our Battery Rather charge it before it reach that level, our battery attains a full charge within 2 to 3 hrs . After that it stops . During a mid day you can topup to again 100% this won't damage your battery instead increase your battery life.

To resolve your issue On your Homescreen Click  on the Clock Icon  > Press the Menu key > Set Time >  On that screen Set the Update time to Automatic , then save it .IfeveryourBatterygodownorperformabatterypullrestartitwillpromptyoutoeditdateandtime , OrsimplyGotoClockfunctionPressthemenukey >SetTime >  ClickonUpdateTime .
