Hi there ,
Your device is not connected to BlackBerry Internet Services as you told on your previous post and in that situation simply entering your email will not work . you should push this matter with your carrier to reconfirm if BIS is properly activated in your account .
Secondly , I'm not sure if it will help but as your device is an used one , you can try this steps after performing a backup :
