Hi and Welcome to the Community!

If more than 30 minutes passes without completing a normal boot, then Safe Mode is recommended:

  • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

When successful, think carefully...what happened just before this behavior presented? A new app? A new theme? An update? The smallest thing could be causal, so think carefully...and reverse whatever that was.

Failing that, the OS could be corrupted, requiring a full OS reload...but let's wait for these results first.

Good luck and let us know!

Re: frozen status bar

Sorry, but can you be more explicit? Does it get into Safe Mode at all or not? You might have to try a few times in order to figure out the proper key press/hold sequence for your BB.

Re: frozen status bar

Which means you need to experiment with exactly how to conduct the proper key press/hold in order to get it into Safe Mode. There is no reason it should not be able to get into Safe Mode since that bypasses all of the add-ons and boots cleanly...it would be a very rare case indeed for Safe Mode to not work, so I encourage you to read that KB carefully and figure out the proper key press/hold sequence in order to get your BB into Safe Mode. Otherwise, the resolution will be much more drastic, with complete loss of any data that is on the BB now, relying only then on whatever the last backup taken contains. I'm pretty sure you'd rather avoid that...so let's see if you can get it into Safe Mode first.

Re: frozen status bar

Well, that's a shame...OK...your next method is as follows:

1) Get a fresh download, to the PC, of the RIM Desktop Software:

2) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:

3) Install the Desktop Software to your PC (or just ensure that the latest version, that you downloaded, is what is already installed to the PC)

4) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package (make sure you have only one Device OS Package installed to the PC, and that it be the proper one for this specific Carrier/BB/OS level).

5) Download and install (still to the PC) BBSAK (bbsak.org)

6) Attempt to get BBSAK to find the BB via USB to the PC. This may take several tries, trying with the BB in various stages of attempting to boot up, connecting and disconnecting the BB via USB, and using the "Kill Processes" in BBSAK between attempts.

7) Once BBSAK finds the BB, wipe the BB and reload the OS

Hopefully that will get things going again.

Good luck and let us know!
