i just switched to a blackberry 8310 and am loving it, i recently owned the iphone 3g . . . to clear stuff up i bought the curve from my friend for a very low price or else i wouldnt have bought one until januarary when my upgrade is available, now i do have an iphone data plan but no bb plan on my account but i will be changing that very soon! i upgraded the device to 4.5 and was wondering if it takes a long time for everyone to boot because before it used to boot up in a minute or so but now it takes about 10 minutes . . . is there anyway i can send it in to RIM to get a replacement 8310 because i honestly think something is wrong with it and btw hes had it for maybe a month so am i still covered by manufacturers warranty? also does anyone kno if i call at&t and ask them to switch me from an iphone data plan to a bb one will the charge me extra?

RIM does not provide the front line warranty support...the carriers do. Under your circumstances, I have no idea how the carriers will react to your situation, but it is in their hands. You can bypass the carriers, but then fees get involved as you are bypassing the contractual arrangement for warranty support -- if you wish to pursue that, see the Support and Services tab at the top of these forums.
Booting up from a batt-pull can take around 5 minutes...10 seems a little long. Is that truly timed or just your impression of how long it takes?
I've no idea of the price difference between a generic data plan from ATT and The BlackBerry Data Plan...perhaps their website might have some information for you.
