grey screen and lines through it...

i woke up and i tried to read a text message tha ti got over night, and it froze up my phone so i pulled the battery out. its been like 2 hours now and whenever i turn my phone on it grey screans and there is mutliple lines going through the screan...top to bottem left to right all the way throug the phone.

 

I tried restoring it, did nothing, i cant change any settings because the screen is stuck in "grey mode", the keyboard lights up but the screen is stuck....

 

pulled the battery out like 20 times, NOTHING happened.

 

changed the battery a month ago... had the phone for 2 years or so have had nothing but problems with it......

 

not sure what im suppose to do....

update.

 

i had it charged in for like 30 minutes now and still is. and the lines are going away, now there just seems to be a solid line in the centre, but its like wavey/pulsing its weird

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

  • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.

 

If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.

 

But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, consider that this may well be a hardware problem, for which no amount of OS or software can help. But you can of course attempt a clean OS reload, and even a more drastic (and tedious!!) "bare bones" installation procedure.
