Okay it's been five months. I started following this thread to zero in on my own security concerns.  How has this resolved?

Changing the number still seems like it was good advice. What's happened?

Well, it kind of fizzled out.  I started the thread to help my former friend who was the victim of this situation.  The person who was doing the harassing got their intended result, sort of.    Unbeknownst to me, multiple adultery was involved and found out.  The person sending the messages got angry they weren't chosen over other people so they somehow intercepted the texts and "anonymously" told the spouse using the website to send messages.  As far as I know, there has been no solution, the person just stopped.  My 'friend' refused to change the number, which was weird.  The police weren't called because my 'friend' didn't want to be found out by anyone.  There were voice recorders and private investigators used by the spouse so maybe the spouse and the 'hacker' were in cahoots?  I don't know.  I'm out of the situation now.

I have learned SOOO much about blackberries and cell phones I want to throw up.  I believe 100% that the blackberry is the most secure phone out there.  I don't know how this person got the info they did but it was definitely true that the texts were being read but not anything that was sent through RIM - all the data like bbm,  email, etc. 

Anyway, in our area Alltel is being replaced by AT&T and we are all receiving new phones.  Most of the new phones have WiFi which I understand can leave a phone susceptible to hacking if not used correctly.

i agree with you im having acactly the same scarey problems BBM aswell as texts i did a check ... i copy and paste a chat to clip board and it now states im from 3 different countries which im obviously not  this will appear next to your against my name no one is takin me seriously atall ........

What states you're from 3 different countries?
