how to retrieve username for email setting?

hi, i need to change my email settings. i tried to do so but it asks for my username. i do remember my password but not my username. is there any way you can retrieve it?

Your BIS account is managed by your wireless service provider...contact them for that assistance.

In which case, the person you spoke with was misinformed. You have no free method by which to contact RIM. All support from RIM starts with the carriers. If they cannot resolve it, they are supposed to escalate into RIM. But, you cannot bypass them and get to RIM directly. So, call them back and request escalation.
