inadvertant sync

We have a few blackberry devices registered under one email account and after a BBM update on one of the phones, I was asked to switch off to complete the update and then asked for the password. This was added and the wrong password was typed in which was for one of the other phones registered to a different network provider. The message on the phone mentioned something about transferring a registered user to a new device (the one that the update had been downloaded too) but I thought this was just part of the update process so continued. Now both devices seem to be sync'd and are running from one BBM contact. Is there a way back to seperate both the accounts without losing any data. I dont want to try to reset the password on my phone incase it resets the other one too.

Thanks, Simon

Re: inadvertently sync

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Yes, you inadvertently associated two BBs to the same BB ID account. Now, to change the one you want, you must do a device WIPE...see this KB:

  • KB26694 How to change the BlackBerry ID on a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet or BlackBerry smartphone

Drastic, yes...but it is what it is.

Good luck!
