Please help me I'm trying to access the internet and am getting the following error message: "the selected server returned an error when attempting to fulfull your request" My service provider told me to update my software, which I did via my desktop.  Its still giving me this error message.  I can't access facebook, whats app etc etc I do however have BBM. I'm desperate

Is your device is under BIS or BES,Regarding this error message I found somethings on Knowledge Base ,Have a look :

KB13210 :The selected server returned an error when attempting to fulfull your your request.

Try it and see if that help.
