There are multiple methods of setting up email on a BB device, but we cannot tell which you are attempting. Nonetheless, here are the methods:

  1. The on-device email setup wizard
  2. Via the device browser, www.blackberry.com/integrate
  3. If they have one, your carriers BIS web portal from a PC/browser
  4. Contacting your carrier and asking them to set it up for you
